HOLISTIC WELLNESS & COACHING

SPIRITUALITY • EMPOWERMENT • WELLBEING

Hell0…

I’m Emma, I live in a tiny village in rural Staffordshire, not far from the edge of the Peak District on what used to be a Victorian Asylum - yes you read that right! I live with my husband Andrew & our ginger working cocker spaniel, Flynn. We love nothing more than sharing hot sacred cacao ceremonies in the morning & big snuggles in bed with Flynn, soul-soothing meditations, & long dog walks in the woods. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place, full of meandering woodland trails & we absolutely love it here.

I love spending time outside, walking our favourite paths, discovering new ones & being soothed by the nature around us. One of my huge passions is personal growth & I devour books on this subject greedily. I adore crystals, incense, writing my workshops & chanting.  I have a love for kundalini yoga, I love to write too, and I’m currently working on my first book.

The Name Bee In The Lotus came to me after a mediation, whilst I was walking Flynn one early summer evening. I adore bees, lotus flowers & their symbolism. You will often find me holding, stroking, saving & feeding bees during the summer months!

Bees hold great importance in nature. Their symbolism can be related to many things though varying religions, from fertility & sexuality to freedom & industriousness. The ancient civilisations saw the bee as a symbol of the sun, a representation of the goddess, community & celebration.

Bees symbolise a re-focusing of goals & getting back on track. They can inspire us to rethink and change our lifestyle.

The Lotus - a flower so close to my heart that I completely fell in love with years ago when on honeymoon in Thailand. I was fascinated by them & was in complete awe of them sitting atop the water.

The lotus always reminds me of resilience. In many Eastern cultures it is a strong symbol of rebirth, regeneration & awakening . The beauty of it’s divine blooms, whose roots are found in mud at the bottom of dark & murky waters, somehow find their way up to the light.

Whilst it can often appear that the mud of our life is somewhat irremovable, we can also remind ourselves that without this mud to shape & nourish us we are unable to become the beautiful blooms that we are meant to be - As a dear friend of mine says ‘no mud, no lotus’.

For me, ‘Bee In The Lotus’ symbolises our own journey...

The lotus finding it’s way through the mud, following the light & eventually blooming, and the industrious bee - who works tirelessly towards their goal, also knowing when to rest.

Together they remind us, that while we work on ourselves as individuals, we are part of the bigger picture - each in dedication to the work we do on our own healing path & in support of the fruits of each other’s labour.

And what better place for a bee to bask in the sunshine of its own journey, than in the resplendent beauty of the lotus flower!
